Tak i poté co se začaly posílat se správnými náušníky, Ultrasone Edition 10 pořád nepůsobí jako jedny z nejlepších sluchátek na trhu( což by vzhledem k ceně 2700 určitě spousta lidí očekává).
Well, I hope a little more break in will help, but I am losing faith. By the end of the weekend I will have almost 100 hours on the new-pad version of the Ed 10. But so far they still exhibit a hotness in some parts of the treble range, and a kind of metallic coloration to the treble overall as a result, that I don't care much for. Of they don't improve a lot with another 25-50 hours break in, then while they're an interesting headphone in some ways, they will be significantly inferior to the LCD-2 Or HE-6 in every possible way, IMHO. Artificially pronounced treble is NOT the same thing as "detailed". And the Edition 10 are simply not a natural sounding headphone, it doesn't seem to me to this point, whereas the LCD-2 or HE-6 are very natural sounding.
I will wait another 50 hours or so to see if it helps. Some songs which are pretty mellow in the upper octaves do sound good, but frankly so far most really don't sound that great. As of now, these rank dead last of all of my top tier cans - I prefer even the Denon D7000, for example. And something like the Beyer T1 is much, much more natural sounding than the Edition 10. The Beyer actually stomp the Edition 10. As, by the way, do Ultrasone's own Edition 8, which at least for now I think are significantly better sounding headphones than the Edition 10.
After two tries. The first with the ear pad fiasco and the second one with the new pads the Edition 10 did not persuade me to keep them. My very personal opinion is that any of the headphones in my collection sound better and the re-cabled T1, recalled HD800 and recalled HE-6 totally smoke them at half or less the price. Just my opinion.
